You never get a second chance
to make a first impression!

Presentations are a powerful tool in effective communication. No other application is as common all other the world as Powerpoint. Making the effort and focusing one's time to develop a thought-thru pitch is seldom done. Steve Jobs however, was aware of the power of a well-prepared presentation. He had spent weeks trying to optimize and rehearse every single slide again and again down to the pauses for silence.

You can make it much easier on yourself by following these guidelines. We have developed an extensive collection of specific slide guidelines so that you have the tools and the confidence to do what you do best: focus on the content. Let us know, if there is something you need in addition.

Title slides

In the set “title slides” you will find various types of slides for different tasks. For example, there are 5 master slides for building presentation titles.

  • Title slide with text on the left and an isolated picture on the right (PNGs with transparent background), like the example on the right side
  • Title slide with an isolated picture on the left and text on the left (PNGs with transparent background), like the example on the right side
  • Title silde with a full-bleed picture (landscape) and an isolated Beauty Shot of our product on the right
  • Title slide with a full-bleed picture (portrait) on the left and text on the right
  • Title slide for text only on OX blue background

Tip: Simply use OX Key Visuals or Photocons to build your title slides. Or the Beauty Shots – the isolated devices with the screenshots of our products. They are available, as well as the Key Visuals and Photocons, already prepared for presentations as PNGs with transparent background.

Please note: All OX presentations start with a title slide, which has at least a 2/8 wide OX blue background, so the presentations of OX be immediately recognized as such. This feature is highly visible, even at the file thumbnails.

Table of contents
also in set “Title slides”

This slide provides a numbered list on OX blue background, which can also be changed into bullet points.

Tip: Use this chapter-separating slides as often as possible in order to subdivide your presentation visually. Due to the restrained design, they have a relaxing effect on the viewer. After this visual break your audience is certainly receptive again for the content that you are presenting.

Transition slides
also in set “Title slides”

This slide is intended for the separation of a presentation in individual chapters. It provides a big headline and a much smaller subline, which can be deleted, if not needed.

Tip: Use this chapter-separating slides as often as possible in order to subdivide your presentation visually. Due to the restrained design, they have a relaxing effect on the viewer. After this visual break your audience is certainly receptive again for the content that you are presenting.

You don’t need a subline? Just omit.

Ending slides
also in set “Title slides”

This group of slides contains two different types. So you can end your presentation with a strong call-to-action (see small example on the right) or just with the pre-build contact slide.

Tip: Normally presentations end with the well-known sentence “Thank you for your attention.” To be honest, nobody needs that. You better use this last slide for a call-to-action in order to prepare your audience for the next steps.

Content slides

Content slides basically have a white background and an OX blue stripe at the bottom, which may be covered under any circumstances. Because without the logo strip such slides could not be assigned as OX relevant content.

Tip: Use OX Key Visuals or Photocons to illustrate your content, as well as the Beauty Shots (the isolated devices with the screenshots of our products). They are available, as well as the Key Visuals and Photocons, already prepared for presentations as PNGs with transparent background.

Please note: If isolated images are not available, you can use circular shaped pictures (the number is limited only by the space on your slide). Full-bleed images are permitted only if they are placed on an OX blue or OX grey background and trimmed on at least three sides.

Infographics

also in set “Content slides”

This group of slides contains pre-build slides, such as the “balloon graphic”.

Tip: These kinds of slides are constantly being updated and adapted to current values. We also constantly generate new infographics that you can use for your presentations. Just ask our marketing division.

Diagrams

This slide contains a standard diagram with Excel based graphs.

Please note: Use OX blues only for OX and accent colors, such as OX lime green, or OX raspberry red, for comparative data. And the OX greys for less important but necessary data.

Screenshots

also in set “Content slides”

Nothing against written content, but sometimes a screenshot of our product is worth a thousand words. Ultimately, we are a software company. Therefore we give screenshots the space they need. And none of these screens must share space with another on a slide.

Tip: Because screenshots of our products are something quite real, we want to make sure that the viewer also can feel this. Therefore we show our screenshots preferably in devices in order to give the user an idea what it feels like working with our products.

In case of showing much more than two or three screenshots in a row and you need every single pixel you can get, you can also use the whole slide without any device.

Corporate slides

These slides are reserved for special content regarding the company itself or the company and/or portfolio is positioned (i.e. marketing). Facts should be up-to-date; when in doubt: check with the Marketing team.

There are slides with the OX blue canvas for corporate-specific content. And there are dark grey slides for special marketing topics.

Tip: If you have a lot of exciting facts, but no images, just turn your text into a hero.

Sometimes it is quite sufficient to make it bigger, to make it important.

And sometimes roadmaps are simply irreplaceable.

Customer quotes are unbeatable because they are much more credible by far, than anything we tell about ourselves. Use them as often as possible in order to prove the success of our products.

Highlight slides

If information for client-partners is extraordinary important, for example: that we make a particularly attractive offer, highlighting them works particularly well on the dark grey background slides. Please remember: the grey background slides are for accentuating a key message to your audience: use them sparingly.

Please note: Use these slides as specifically as possible. The less often they appear, they are more noticeable.

Font exception

To ensure that our presentations look as identical as possible everywhere, an exclusive exception in font usage is permitted.

Instead of the corporate font Open Sans, Helvetica must be used. Namely, the font weight Helvetica Regular. Highlighting in bold or italic type can be created with the appropriate features in PowerPoint. Please do not use other fonts or font weights.
